‘Workshop to Develop the Roadmap for Revision of National Quality Policy and Strategy’ Organized by MOH&FW


On 25 April 2019, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare organized a workshop titled, ‘Workshop to Develop the Roadmap for Revision of National Quality Policy and Strategy’, in a hotel in Dhaka. The event involved health sector experts from government and non-government bodies, who came together to suggest revisions to the NQPS.

The participants of the workshop believe that the NQPS is not just a document but a process for development and includes initiatives to be adapted nationally to improve the quality of health services. The participants were divided into groups to discuss key focus areas to be incorporated in the NQPS for immediate and long term activities.

Among the special guests were: Dr. A. E. Md. Muhiuddin Osmani, Joint Chief, Planning Wing, Health Services Division, MOH&FW; Dr. Md. Raushan Anwar, Director, Primary Health Care, Directorate General Health Services (DGHS);Dr. Md. Aminul Hasan, Director, Hospital and Clinics & Focal Person, Quality Improvement Secretariat (QIS); Dr. Md. Shamsul Haque, Line Director, MNCAH, DGHS.

Presentations were made by Dr. Md. Aminul Hasan and Professor Sheila Leatherman, Professor, Health Policy and Management, Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina, USA.

The workshop was chaired by: Dr. Shahadt Hossain Mahmud, Director General, Health Economics Unit.

The chief guest of the workshop was Ashadul Islam, Secretary, Health Services Division, MOH&FW, however he was unable to attend due to other commitments.
